A celebration of Mediterranean landscapes
As you walk through the museum’s doors, you enter a parallel world, so immersive is the permanent exhibition. Nearly 200 works retrace 2000 years of the city’s history through the evolution of its landscapes, shaped over the ages by man. The scenography of artistic installations is visual, interactive and sometimes even olfactory. Smell the lavender and listen to the memories and anecdotes of Hyères’ most emblematic figures.
Our advice
On the 1st Sunday of each month, admission to the museum is free.

Varied scenographic spaces
Under this immense, light-flooded glass roof, the orange patio is an ode to Provence. Like one of Proust’s madeleines, the ubiquitous colorful citrus trees whisper of the agricultural past for which Hyères is famous. A little further on, the glass room lets in natural light on huge paintings, extending the exhibition space. On the first floor, temporary exhibitions cover 500 m². From one exhibition to the next, the Musée de la Banque offers a perfect scenography. In the basement, the vault remains authentic. Completely restored, it takes you back in time. You’ll notice that box no. 13 doesn’t exist.
The temporary exhibition
Andy Warhol
From February 8 to June 8, 2025, La Banque, musée des Cultures et du Paysage, reveals exceptional works by Andy Warhol.
The exhibition brings together 71 works, divided into 171 pieces, originating for the first time in France from the Andy Warhol Museum in Medzilaborce, Slovakia. Founded in 1991 by his brother John Warhol, the museum is rooted in the artist’s family origins in the village of Miková.
It explores Warhol’s visual and conceptual universe through works such as Camouflage, Ladies and Gentlemen, Kiku, Flash, Annunciation, Screen Tests and his introspective self-portraits. Iconic pieces such as Marilyn, Mao, Flowers, Campbell’s Soup II and the film Empire stand alongside lesser-known but equally revealing creations.
Thanks to these exceptional loans, notably from the Fondation Carmignac, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on Warhol’s view of his time, which still resonates today.
