A thousand years of know-how
With a long tradition of winegrowing dating back to Gallo-Roman times, the commune of La Crau perpetuates this culture through its estates and its century-old cooperative winery with 150 members. Here, terroir is a strength. Next to the stately plane trees, on street corners and along country roads, rows of sun-drenched vines announce the color of the estates.

La Crau estates
Mainly located near waterways, Craur’s estates offer a variety of wines with Mediterranean flavors. Eight sell at the winery. Vineyards with a family stamp or the fruit of a religious history, Provencal bastides nestled in a green setting or imposing centuries-old buildings, organic or biodynamic farming: their diversity encompasses three AOPs (Côtes-de-Provence Pierrefeu, Côtes-de-Provence La Londe, AOP Bandol).
Stroll through the vineyards
Several estates offer guided tours on request: Don Bosco, La Marseillaise, La Tour de l’Evêque, Les Mesclances, La Castille. The latter authorizes walking on its paths. Take advantage of festive and cultural events to soak up the friendly atmosphere: theater in the vineyards, musical evenings, local producers’ markets, fun activities, conferences and vintage tastings.
Wine cruise
From May to October, the sunset wine cruise takes you on a sunset cruise through the Toulon harbor and Tamaris Bay. Tastings of wines from Provence Méditerranée estates and local fish products punctuate your evening at sea, with comments from the boat’s captain. This year, Les Mesclances and La Marseillaise will represent the Craur region.
Our advice
A visit to a producer implies his availability: call him to make sure he’ll be there on the day of your visit.
