Our top 10 diving spots
The Provence Méditerranée coastline, like its islands and peninsulas, boasts a rich underwater heritage and exceptional diving sites. History has also left its mark, and many ships, submarines and aircraft are now sunken wrecks to be explored. Some sites are renowned for the astonishing wealth of their archaeological remains. Discover them in our top 10.
Ready to enter the world of silence? Mythical wrecks, drop-offs and drifts at all depths will dazzle you, whether you’re a novice or an expert. Dive on wrecks accessible to beginners, such as Le Cimentier, or, for the more experienced, access the most famous wrecks in the Mediterranean, such as L’Arroyo or Le Donator.
Our professional diving centers welcome you in complete safety and offer you, in a friendly atmosphere, freediving, snorkeling and dives at all levels, from exploration to training, from beginner to instructor.
The snorkeling life
If you’re tempted by an underwater adventure but not quite ready for scuba diving, head for the coves of Provence Méditerranée. Simple equipment – flippers, mask, snorkel – is all you need to penetrate the beauty of the Mediterranean: starfish, colorful fish, anemones, sea urchins, posidonia and octopus play hide-and-seek in the rocks just a few meters from shore. Open your eyes wide!
Frequently asked questions
At what age can you start scuba diving?
Most diving centers welcome children aged 8 and over for baptisms. For deeper dives, ask the professionals. You need to be able to swim. Parental consent is required.
I want to dive but I’m afraid to take the plunge
Get in touch with the instructors at one of our professional diving centers. They’ll be able to answer your questions and reassure you. However, if you’re still apprehensive, you can turn to snorkeling, which also lets you explore the seabed from the surface.
Where are the best places to start diving?
There are several diving spots in the Provence Méditerranée region where you can enjoy a first dive in shallow waters: around the Embiez archipelago or Deux Frères rocks in La Seyne-sur-Mer, as in Le Pradet, or in the waters around the islands of Hyères, Porquerolles and Port-Cros, or the Giens peninsula.
