La Crau

Between sea and countryside

A town, a local terroir

Located between Toulon and Hyères, La Crau is warm and welcoming. In the heart of the city, the local atmosphere of its market infuses you. Taste the local wines in the surrounding vineyards, then take a relaxing break in the Parc du Béal, after a game of pétanque (bowls) under the plane trees. At Halles Milona, a traditional covered market in the style of the halles of yesteryear, you can share a convivial moment surrounded by craftsmen, shopkeepers and producers. La Crau is waiting for you.

Between Hyères and La Crau, Mount Fenouillet dominates the plain

A stroll through Fenouillet

Le Fenouillet, 291 metres high, stands out for its sculpted shape and sheer cliffs. Situated at the top of the Maurettes mountain range, it offers a panoramic view from its cross, stretching from the Hyères coastline to the east to the Saint-Mandrier peninsula to the west. A feeling of tranquillity reigns at its summit.

Wine-growing land

Bathed in sunshine, the local terroir of La Crau has a rich winemaking tradition, dating back to Roman times, which continues to this day through its significant production. This past has left us with estates marked by the charm of old stones, brightly colored and deeply imbued with Provencal identity. More than a hundred growers are members of the cooperative winery, which has been in operation since 1913. The region’s long tradition of wine production has earned the Côtes-de-Provence AOC label.
The vineyards sells directly and offer guided tours on request.

Town center and beal

A stroll around La Crau’s squares, along its shopping streets or its Provencal market, watching boules players in the shade of the plane trees, is a delightful immersion in the art of southern living.

In the heart of the city, the park of Béal is the ideal place to recharge your batteries. Inspired by the gentle murmur of the canal of the same name, its Mediterranean essences, ponds and children’s play equipment create a setting conducive to relaxation and rest.
