Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer

The secret peninsula

A haven of peace at the end of the metropolis

Nestling at the bottom of the Creux de Saint-Georges, Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, nicknamed the charming peninsula, has preserved its fishing village soul. In its port, sheltered from all winds in Toulon’s harbor, traditional fishing boats rub shoulders with modern sailboats. The Pin Rolland district, popular for its beach and pine forest, forms the link between the village and the Sablettes district of La Seyne-sur-Mer. Enjoy the pleasures of swimming between beaches and coves, wild or family-friendly. The long shoreline also makes it the ideal playground for nautical activities or hiking along the coastal path.

A world away from time

A village around the port

Time seems to stand still in the marina. Whether you’re sitting on a café terrace, at the Saturday morning market or returning from a fishing trip, your conversations with the locals are sure to capture the spirit of the village. A haven of serenity, like the atypical Franco-Italian cemetery and its pyramid, Saint-Mandrier comes alive all year round: garage sales, designer markets, giant bouillabaisse…

The coastal path in Saint-Mandrier

Saint-Mandrier’s coastal path, formerly known as the “sentier des douaniers”, links the village to Saint-Asile beach. As you hike along the seafront, you’ll alternate between balcony or forest passages, and privileged views of the Deux Frères rocks, Cap Sicié and Toulon’s harbour.

A sea and forest duo for your vacation

On the edge of the Saint-Mandrier peninsula, Pin Rolland is appreciated for its privileged location between sea and forest. Just a stone’s throw from your campsite or rental property, this small hamlet offers everything you could wish for a successful vacation: a beautiful sandy beach for relaxing moments, water sports activities, hiking trails, and a pine forest with century-old trees for shady picnics or lively games of “pétanque” (bowls).

Provençal jousting

On the port, two boats have a strange silhouette: they are those of the Mandrean jousters. Modern knights carrying on the tradition, armed with wooden spears, they challenge their opponents to sensational nautical battles. In summer, bet on who will be the first to fall in the water!
