Ollioules's Maison du Patrimoine

Architectural jewel of the Metropolis

The history of our towns

In the heart of Ollioules, the former “Maison des Têtes”, a 17th-century mansion with sumptuous gypsum decor, has been transformed into a museum. As you travel back in time, you’ll learn about the history and heritage of the Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolitan area in a fun, interactive way, with original, poetic scenarios.

Gypseries

Exceptional architecture

As soon as you open the door to the Maison du Patrimoine, the gypseries – majestic plaster decorations on the walls – jump out at you. More than 80 busts and heads – some representing the heads of Roman emperors – look down on you. The fully-decorated staircase of this unique residence guides you up to the museum’s various rooms, where you’ll discover past and contemporary wonders of the region.

History of the Arts in Provence Médterranée

Alternating between the real world, with a wide variety of collector’s items, and virtual technologies, you’ll explore history through the great artistic currents, from Antiquity to the 20th century. Gaspard, your colorful companion with a Provencal accent, guides you on an interactive journey between worlds: burlesque comedy, gypsum workshop, land of epics, land of plenty, travel journal or cabinet of curiosities.

History of water and flowers in Ollioules

The cabinet of curiosities at the Maison du Patrimoine d’Ollioules plunges you into a world of illustrious characters who have influenced the history of Provence Méditerranée through its painters, discoverers, sculptors and popular singers. From Pierre Puget to Jean Aicard, via Félix Mayol, Raimu and Mireille Darc, this museum room and its many relics are surprisingly rich and diverse.
