Art Deco nugget
You approach the Halles building – erected in 1929 – and are struck by its bold art deco style. Observe its geometric shapes, ironwork, monumental door and mosaic pediment: you’re looking at a jewel of modern architecture. As you climb the steps to the main entrance, you’ll notice a plaque engraved with Esther Poggio’s name. Since 1956, Les Halles has paid tribute to this heroine of the French Resistance, born into a family of retailers and with an extraordinary destiny.

As you enter the halls through the main door, you’re immediately immersed in the friendly atmosphere. Opposite you, the Biltoki café counter welcomes you and invites you to relax. As you continue your exploration of the site, your mouth begins to water at the sight. This gourmet mecca brings together the very best in local and international gastronomy to delight the taste buds. As you browse the stalls, you’ll find it a real pleasure to mingle in the aisles, chatting with the shopkeepers and asking their advice on product selection. How to get to Les Halles de Toulon?
Les Halles are located in the historic center, on Place Vincent Raspail.
By car, from the east or west entrances to the town, take the “Centre-ville” direction via boulevard de Strasbourg. Park in the Q-Park “Peiresc” underground parking lot on rue de Lorgues, 200 m away. halls.
By bus, all lines passing along the main thoroughfares (boulevard de Strasbourg, avenue de la République) will drop you off just a few minutes’ walk from Les Halles.
