Shakti Indian dance and culture
The association offers Indian dance classes and workshops for teenagers and adults of all levels, organizes cultural events and presents Indian dance shows.
Bollywood dance is a blend of classical Indian, folk and world dance styles, as well as a musical comedy style. It stimulates the body from head to toe, through hand gestures, postures and facial expressions. Bollywood dance is also good for your well-being, helping you to relax your mind, free yourself, express yourself and enjoy yourself.
Shakti means "power" in Sanskrit and represents the primordial creative force, often associated with the universal feminine principle personified by the Hindu goddess Devi and her various avatars.
The Shakti association took part in events in Toulon: associations forum at the Palais des Congrès Neptune, parade during the Olympic torch welcome day on May 10, 2024.
It presented shows in Paris, with the Bolly Deewani association (Bollywood dance competition), in Nantes, with ACOORD, the Maisons de quartier, the Devananda associations, Les Deux Rives (Aux Quatre Coins De l'Asie show), Russies étonNantes (Tour de la Russie en 20 jours festival), the Collectif Contes à Rebours (La Réplique festival), Ville d'Orvault (Les Éclats festival), as well as in India and Romania (Namaste India festival).
